Painting by Numbness

Polly at the Esalen Baths

Of course by that I mean sitting hunched for much too long with the fierce determination to figure this painting thing out. This portrait of Polly is the fifth painting I’ve ever attempted: my neophyte ability seems to be developing pretty well, thanks to the incredible guidance of CCA painting guru/ philosopher/ life coach Bryan Keith Thomas and his invaluable and gifted TA, Chiyomi McKibbin.

How do I love CCA? Better not ask, because I can’t count to infinity.

Here’s my evolution from February to May:

Self-Portrait (1st)

Self-Portrait (2nd)
Self-Portrait (final)
